Assalam Alaykum Brothers and Sisters,
Prophet Muhammad has said about this month, the only month mentioned in the Quran by name:
‘It is the month which invites you to be the guests of Allah, and to be near Him....”
Let us aim to be deserving guests of Allah this month, by fulfilling the true aim of fasting, and benefitting from recitation of Quran which was revealed in this holy month. Ameen.
Let us also keep the victims of the floods in Pakistan in our hearts and minds during this holy month. Imam Hasan Centre has organised a fundraising lunch on Sunday 12th September at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Tickets cost $150, available from Brother Baqir, or Sheikh Idrees. As we take our iftar, let us keep these unfortunate victims of in our thoughts, and be mindful of not doing asraf, that is waste, whether it is with food, water, drink or even the disposable items we are using every night.

IMAMI MEDIC – SHIA ORGANIZATION REGISTERED WITH THE U.N.
Imam Hasan Centre is pleased to announce that on 2nd September at 7.00 PM we will be hosting the Inauguration of the Imamia Medics in Australia, ( http://www.imamiamedics.org/) we ask all medical professionals Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacist Specialist etc to please attend and be part of this auspicious occasion we would like to thank Dr. Imran from Brisbane for making this possible.
Dua-e Kumayl will be held every Thursday night at 7.30pm, please bring a plate to share.
Last Friday of Ramadhan Duas
Sayyid Ibn Tawus and Shaykh al-Saduq have both narrated the following on the authority of Jabir ibn `Abdullah al-Ansariy:
I visited the Messenger of Allah (a.s) on the last Friday of Ramazan. As he saw me, he said, “Jabir: This is the last Friday of Ramazan. You should thus bid it farewell by saying the following:

اللّهُمّ لا تَجْعَلهُ آخِرَ العَهْدِ مِنْ صِيَامِنَا إِيَّاهُ
|
allahumma lataj`alhu akhira al`ahdi min siyaminaiyyahu
|
O Allah: (please) do not make it the last of our fasting in this month;
|
|
فَإِنْ جَعَلْتَهُ فَاجْعَلْنِي مَرْحُوماً وَلا تَجْعَلْنِي مَحْرُوماً.
|
fa-in ja`altahu faj`alny marhuman wa lataj`alny mahruman
|
but if You decide so, then (please) make me enjoy (Your) mercy and do not make me deprived (of it).
|
Verily, anyone who says this supplication will win one of the two good things; either attaining the next Ramazan or having the forgiveness and mercy of Almighty Allah.”
Upcoming Majalis during Ramadhan
Sunday the 29th of August
There will be no children’s classes tonight.
Program begins with Iftar at 5.56pm, followed by duas.There will be majlis at 7.30pm. We will be commemorating the night of zarbat on Imam Ali.
Monday the 30th of August
Program will begin at 5.57pm with Maghrib prayers, followed by Iftar and duas.
Majlis will begin at 7.30pm.
Tuesday the 31st of August
The Program will begin at 5.57pm with Maghrib prayers, followed by iftar and duas.
Majlis of Shahadat of Imam Ali will begin at 7.30pm, followed by Taboot, and
Brother Nadeem Sarwar will be present to recite Nauhas for Matam.
Aamal of Shabe-Qadr (21st night) will begin at approximately 9pm. finishing about 10.30 pm
Wednesday the 1st of September
Program will begin at 5.58pm with Maghrib prayers, followed by iftar and Duas, and
majlis at 7.30pm.
Thursday 2nd September
Program will begin at 5.59pm with maghrib prayers, followed by Iftar.
Aamal of Shabe Qadr (23rd night) will begin after iftar, at approximately 7.15pm.
Saturday 4th September
Children’s classes will be held as usual at 4.30pm.
Maghrib prayers will be held at 6.00pm, followed by iftar, duas and Quran Dars.
Thereafter, we will begin celebrations for Chaand Raat.
Sunday 5th September
Children’s classes will begin at 4.30pm as usual.
Maghrib prayers will be held at 6.01pm, followed by iftar, duas and Quran Dars.
Imam Hasan School News
During Ramadhan only, classes will run on Saturday as well as Sunday, starting at 4.30 PM till maghrib time. This will enable children to focus on Quran recitation, dua’s and Ramadhan/fasting related topics.
There will be no classes on Sunday the 27th of August.
