2nd Husayn Day Blood Donation
Blood Donation for Ashura
On Wednesday the 7th of January/ 9th Muharram, about 200 members from the Imam Hasan Centre, Imam Husayn Islamic Centre and Al-Thekelein League (Dr. Abbas Latife) Communities came to the Parramatta Blood bank to donate blood. The aim was to commemorate the sacrifice in Kerbala of Imam Husayn and his companions. Alhadulillah, the turnout was bigger and better than last years, with an increase in the numbers of both brothers and sisters. Thank you to all the brothers and sisters who came and donated blood and supported this initiative to commemorate Ashura by giving back to the wider community in a worthwhile way.

Congratulations to Ahmed Sultani (Br. Zahir and Sis Suhaila's son) on gaining first place in 4 UNIT Mathematics Extention in NSW - he recieved and award from the Premier of NSW today.
Abbas Ali Raza Seyani - 97.2
Congratulations to Abbas Seyani (Br. Ali Raza and Sis Sabira's son) on achieving 97.2, the Seyani family have contributed greatly to Imam Hasan Centre, Abbas having been named Imam Hasan Centre - Youth of the Year and Sis. Sabira receiving the Community Award. It is great to see a young boy being a good Muslim and an outstanding student.
Haider Rajani - 91.45
Congratulations to Haider Rajani (Asghar bhai and bhabi Mumtaz's son) on gaining a gaining a great mark, we have all seen Haider grow in front of us from a baby to mature and well rounded young man - congratulations to the Rajani family.

This week the discussion was Environment and Our responsibilities.
Syed Muhammad started the discussion with the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. He recitedtheverse number 80 from Sura Asra (chapter 17).
“My Lord! Let my Entry be good and my exit be good and grant me from You an authority to help me.â€
To remind the audience of last week discussion and some good points he said, the basic idea behind the forum is to feel and understand the important issues of today world and to find a proper feasible solution to them for the progress of the human world.
He added that today we need to find out practical ways of helping the environment which is indeed help to religion as well. Pointing to the improper use of water for Wudhu he said we need to find a solution in order to control the excessive use of water.
He referred to the Quran and Hadith about mutual cooperation and working together.
He said when we talk about safeguarding the environment we must know that anything which blocks the human progress is unlawful and an offence. Destroying the natural resources and their excessive and improper use is due to the greed.
As a muslim we are required to have mutual cooperation and we cannot progress unless we are all together. Referring to the Salat, he said in the Holy Quran, Allah asks us to “Keep up the prayers†which means not only reading ourselves, but making others also recite the prayers. It means back at home we should create the environment and situation so everyone recite their prayers, i.e. switch off the TV, computers, etc.
Almost 50 brothers from Imam Hasan Centre particpated in this worthy cause, special thanks to Ali Reza Seyani for organizing everyone and thanks to Syed Muhammad for leading from the front by donating blood himslef as well as Syeda Tahira. We are sorry we don't have evryones photos but we pray to Allah to reward them for their efforts.
