This week at Imam Hasan Centre 21-08-08

Assalam Alaykum Brothers and Sisters,

Last Saturday’s School children’s presentation to celebrate the wiladat of our 12^th Imam was excellent. The children had been practising hard for the last few weeks, and all their hard work paid off. The students of Class Emaan recited the Quran beautifully as a group, as did Class Nabuwat with their song ‘Son of Ahmed”. Well done also to Class Imamat, for learning and performing their role-play so convincingly, with only 2 weeks of practise.

We also thank Br. Hamdani for his enlightening poetry during this period of wiladats., as well as all the other reciters on both nights. We apologise for the lengthy programmes, but during these nights, the programme becomes longer due to extra presentations, such as the children’s items, and the poetry in Urdu, both of which add special meanings to our celebrations. We thank you for your patience.

Programme for Saturday the 23rd of August

This Saturday, there will be 12^th Imam’s Dastarkhan for the ladies, starting at 7.30pm. At the same time, there will be a Quran-Khatam ceremony for Abbas, the son of RehanAli and Bushra Khan. This will take place at 7.30pm too in the men’s hall.

Imam Hasan School news

There has been a fantastic response from the students of Imam Hasan School, to the Inter-Centre competition. Thanks to the efforts of the teachers, parents, and the children of course, we have collected 45 entries. Imam Husain Islamic Centre has collected 21 entries. Syed Muhammad and Sheikh Mansour have decided on the winning entries and trophies and certificates will be awarded this Saturday night inshallah. We look forward to seeing which Centre will win the Championship Shield for 2008!

The change in the roster arrangements has been well received by parents and children, and is working in the favour of our children, as they are receiving a lot more time in the classes! Please note the new requirements, which are on noticeboards around the Centre.

Sunday morning Ladies’ Exercise class

Every Sunday morning at the Centre, a group of ladies is taking the opportunity to get fit and active with a female personal trainer. Anyone can join, it costs $20 per person for an hour. If you are interested, please talk to Sister Sanober Reshty, or Zohra Aly.
